I have found one of my new favorite lettering supplies! Tombow recently released the new TwinTone Markers and they are really fun!
The TwinTone Markers come in two different 12-packs- Brights & pastels.
They do differ from the Tombow Dual Brush Pens in that they have different tips.
One side has an extra fine tip for detail.
The other side has a broad bullet tip.
LETTERING STYLE #1: Monoline
The TwinTone Markers are perfect for monoline lettering! To create the monoline style, just write using the broad bullet tip.
Monoline lettering is a form of lettering in which the strokes do not have both thin and thick lines. These markers are perfect because it’s not a brush tip- it only creates one thin stroke.
LETTERING STYLE #2: Thick & Messy Letters
I really love this style! It’s meant to look a bit imperfect, which I think adds to the character of the style.
To achieve this look, use the broad tip and write your letters. Then thicken each stroke. No need to worry about the thick and thick strokes like when using a brush pen! Then, I used a Tombow MONO Drawing Pen to outline in black. Notice, I didn’t keep the black outline perfectly straight on the lines. That adds to the fun of it!
LETTERING STYLE #3: Details
Now let’s see what the other tip can do! The extra fine tip is perfect for adding details.
First, letter your words with the broad tip. Here I thickened the strokes.
Use the extra fine tip to add details. Make it fun! Here I added dots and lines.
Which one is your favorite? I’d love to know! Feel free to comment below or better, share with me on Instagram! Make sure to tag # amandakammarada
