April 1st kicks off National Letter Writing Month! The U.S. Postal Service started it back in 2001 as a way “to raise awareness of the importance and historical significance of card and letter writing”. That happy feeling of getting a letter in the mail just doesn’t compare to that of receiving a text or email.
Why write? Well here are some reasons why:
* letters and cards are thoughtful and sentimental
*it can brighten someone’s day
* it brings JOY
* allows for creative expression
* it’s something physical that can be saved and cherished
To celebrate, I’m challenging you to write 30 different letters/cards and actually mail them! Get your friends’ addresses (because you probably don’t know them, right?!) and let’s bring love and joy to mailboxes all month long!
Here’s how it works:
I’ve created a calendar full of prompts to inspire you each day. Some are directed to writing to a specific receipent and some are art prompts for your creative side. Have fun with the prompt, take a photo of your snail mail and share it on Instagram with #30daysofmailboxlove
Throughout the month I’ll be sharing some DIY tips for creating snail mail and having some fun giveaways!
Here’s how to join in:
Sign up to receive the prompt calendar along with other snail mail goodies throughout the month
