The United States Postal Service is the oldest federal agency in America, They deliver anywhere and everywhere (Rural areas especially are dependent on the PO!). USPS is a vital part of our society. Businesses rely on it. Veterans, Seniors, the sick- depend on the mail to receive medications. Those who receive paychecks through the mail need it. Those that don’t pay their bills online depend on it. Those who vote by mail. We ALL need the postal service. It’s an essential service and it’s hurting right now.
With it being an election year, mail-in voting has become a controversial topic with the current administration. The Postal Service needs funding, which the President hasn’t helped with. There are also other things happening- blue mailboxes are being removed or locked. Sorting machines are being turned off. Employees are no longer earning overtime. Post Offices are changing their hours. Mail delivery times are slowing. People are not receiving their mail, medications, etc., as quickly as normal.
So, let’s help save the USPS…one stamp at a time!
Here’s how you can help:
- Buy stamps! You can purchase stamps in-person at your local post office or order online. I even get stamps at my grocery store customer service counter.
- Send letters/cards! To make it super easy for you, I created a printable postcard- simply print it out, write a message, address it, add a stamp and put it in your mailbox.
- print yours: USPS_postcard_front
- USPS_postcard_back
- Text “USPS” to 50409. Resistbot will generate a letter for you to send to your Representatives.
- Sign petitions to let your Representatives know who you feel! Like this one Save the USPS and Save Our Post Office
